The Disaster Management Authority (DMA), with the support of the World Food Programme (WFP), held a one-and-a-half-day Workshop on the Validation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Targeting from 24–25 September 2026.
The workshop brought together key stakeholders to review and validate a clear, structured national approach to targeting, strengthening the country’s preparedness and capacity to respond effectively and efficiently to anticipated hazards.
Participants deliberated on key aspects of the targeting process, including targeting steps, eligibility criteria, institutional roles and responsibilities, and the interoperability of the National Information System for Social Assistance (NISSA) within both crisis response and social protection processes.
The validated SOPs are expected to provide a clear, consistent and transparent framework to help ensure that humanitarian assistance reaches the most vulnerable households in a timely, effective and equitable manner.
